Then without you, we would never make new friends through our daily routines. So Thelma & Loy set out to create a very different environment for this dental practice. Every individual who enters our practice feels instantly at home with the homely and friendly reception area.
Our Practice Managers Lynette & Thelma enjoy building new relationships with people of all ages and as this is a Family Dental Practice, we see people of all ages - kids to seniors. Our reception is styled around being a family living room and you are welcome to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea if you can spare the time with us, either before or after your dental appointment. We are never rushed or hurried and we hope you do enjoy the reception area. "There is always laughter and fun happening in reception and through our glass doors, we see Lynette & Thelma chatting with visitors to our practice."

Our Preventive Care philosophy started with the building itself. When we took ownership of these premises, we were advised to tear down the decrepit structure ( see photo ) and build a steel and glass modern building. This would definitely stick out like a sore thumb in Epsom, when we are surrounded by antique shops and character bungalows. We knew that this reflected our work, to preserve and enhance what is genuinely the original piece of beauty. The results of significant architectural effort to restore this structure to its current immaculate state is the inspiration that we bring to our day to day work.

Our Preventive & Oral Hygiene program is established and run by Jill our Hygienist. She is lovely with children and they love to help. Jill has over 2 decades of Hygiene experience and our high tech operation is well matched to her skills and direction. Every patient is impressed with her attention to detail on an individual basis. We are all different in our body chemistry and so oral hygiene protocols must be tailored to individual needs.
Dr Loy
Dr Loy is Principal Dentist. Having graduated in 1978 he achieved a Master's degree in Oral Surgery at the University of Bombay ( Mumbai ) in 1981. As dentist to the film stars of Bollywood for almost 16 years, there was absolutely no time to 'having a family life'. "Our boys would hardly see him through the week and one evening Raoul asked him is he had a bed to sleep at his clinic. This opened his eyes to the reality of enjoying your kids while you have them, and prompted this move to New Zealand".
"We kept our practice small for 10 years as Raoul & Marcel grew up. Their move to study and work in the US in 2004 gave us the opportunity to chase our dream of letting our practice grow naturally" says Thelma.
Loy has great strengths in Cosmetic Dentistry, Preventive Care & Oral Surgery. He is also on the Executive of the NZ Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Shuko - Sterilizing Nurse
We invite every patient to view our high tech sterilizing facility where Ms Shuko as sterilizing nurse ensures the highest standards of instrument management and patient safety. In today's environment of cross-infection risks, we spared no effort or cost to establish a hospital grade of sterilizing facility. It is these hidden high standards which sets our practice uniquely apart.
Shuko trained as a Dental Nurse in Japan. Now she and her husband call Auckland their home. Our surgery could not function without Shuko.
With the large number of patients joining our practice, our team is constantly growing. We believe that we are one big family, and would love to have you join our practice. Lynette and Thelma will be happy to hear from you.
